Getting to Inverkeithing Train Station from Dunfermline

Inverkeithing station is a busy interchange where main-line and Fife Circle services meet, which makes it a genuinely useful connection point for travellers from Dunfermline. Depending on where you're heading, starting your rail journey there can open up services that don't all call at Dunfermline. A short taxi hop gets you to the platform without the parking faff.

Why start at Inverkeithing?

Because it's an interchange, Inverkeithing sees frequent services towards Edinburgh and connections around the network. If your train works better from there, the short taxi from Dunfermline can be quicker overall than waiting for a less frequent local service — and you avoid hunting for a parking space at the station.

Timing your pickup

Trains don't wait, so the main thing is to leave comfortable margin. Tell us your train time when you book and we'll plan a pickup that gets you there with a few minutes to spare. We won't quote a fixed journey time — traffic through Rosyth and Inverkeithing varies — but we'll build in sensible room.

Coming back on a late train

Our 24-hour service is handy at the other end of the day, too. If you're due in on a late service, pre-book the pickup so a car is waiting rather than relying on catching one on spec. That's especially reassuring on cold or wet evenings.
